 | don't stand behind a burning car.
Example of a gas shock absorber rupturing after fire exposure. Shock was stopped by steel rear bumper and fiberglass outer shell. A fraction of an inch either way and the entire shock would have jeopordized the safety of fire crews working on-scene. This is the main reason we preach against standing directly in front of or behind burning vehicles.
